SEPTEMBER 11TH CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL

Bob Reeves and Kathy Collier will be conducting a September 11th candle light vigil in conjunction with Chandlers Landing Yacht Club. The Rockwall Community is invited. The candle light service will begin in the parking lot of the club at 7:15 PM and proceed to the water front. You may contact the church office for additional information.

On Sunday, October 13th First Presbyterian will worship on the lawn in a tent at 10:00 AM (no Sunday School Oct. 13). Fellowship and games will follow the worship service. Lunch will be potluck, bring your favorite dish to share, drinks provided.

Act 2002 is coming your way this fall and you do not want to miss it!
ACT is Grace Presbytery's annual educational and leadership development event. ACT provides courses dealing with a wide range of topics including teacher training, faith development, Bible study, and issues facing the Presbyterian Church. ACT is not just for Church School teachers. Every member of our congregation will find a class of interest to them. ACT 2002 will take place September 27& 28 at First Presbyterian Church, Dallas. Registration is $20 per person (if registered before Sept. 6th and $25 after that date.) Childcare and the Grace Kids Program are offered with advance registration. BIBLE STUDY
The Wednesday night Bible Study and Prayer Group meets each Wednesday evening in the conference room at 7:00 PM. Christian Faith seeks understanding and one of the best ways possible to seek and experience the meaning of Christian Faith is through Bible Study. Your are invited to join with the Wednesday Night Study Group at 7:00 PM in the conference room.


CHURCH WIDE RETREAT
The time is drawing near for the annual church-wide retreat at Mo-Ranch! Oct. 4,5,& 6. There is a sign up sheet in fellowship hall. Total cost for the weekend including food is $188 per family. Must be paid in full by September 15th.

Mo-Ranch is a special place and the church-wide retreat is a special event. The ranch is a 434 acre range land on the banks of the Guadeloupe River. The wonders of nature can be found from the crystal clear waters of the river to the rugged hilltops. Recreational facilities include tennis courts, hiking and nature trails, swimming pool, and of course the one-of-a-kind river slide.
There is room for you. The sign up sheet is in the fellowship hall.


Immediately following morning worship September 15th all September "Babies" will celebrate their birthdays in the fellowship hall.

The Prayer Chain contact is Barbara Sinclair. Everyone is welcome to be part of this powerful process. Please let Barbara know if you would like to be part of the chain.

Wilma Foster is in charge of "Care and Concern." If you know of anyone who needs meals provided during illnesses, transportation to doctors' appointments, or in some other way needs help and support, let Wilma know. She will organize a quick and caring response.

Bake sales are held every 2nd Sunday of each month, September-May. For this month only the Bake Sale will be held on the 3rd Sunday Sept. 15th. The next one will be October 13th. Mary Crutchfield is in charge of the bake sales. We ask all women to contribute for this is one of our money making projects.

FALL BUFFET: Mark your calendar for the Fall Buffet, Sunday, September 8th at the church, 6:00 PM. This is a general meeting for all the women in the church. This is a time to get to know each other and eat some delicious food. If you are new to First Presbyterian, you are especially encouraged to come and join us.

MORNING CIRCLE: will meet Thursday Sept. 12th, 10:30 AM at the church. Hosted by Dorothy Hooper.

LADIES NIGHT OUT: will meet Monday, September 9th, 7:00 PM at the church. Bring your own dinner….reviewing the book "Girl With A Pearl Earring"

EVENING CIRCLE: will meet Wednesday Sept. 18th, 7:30 PM at the home of Frances Campbell. Program presented by Kathy Collier.

BABY SHOWER: There will be a Baby Shower for Jenna Herring on Sunday, September 15th, 3:00 PM at the church. Jenna is registered at Target.
