One Great Hour Of Sharing

Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.
      (1 Peter 4:10)

    In abundance, you have given.
In need, you have gladly received.
In both, you have known grace.

As comfort is offered and accepted in a single embrace, any gift freely given resounds, from India to Senegal, Sierra Leone to Kosovo, El Salvador to your own Community.

The One Great Hour of Sharing offering unites people across loss and gain through a common need: love.

Your OGH of Sharing offering helps people
  • feed, support and speak for themselves and their families
  • learn new skills and trades
  • obtain better health care
  • find a safe refuge to start their lives again
  • see hope in the face of disaster
  • survive and work toward a better life.

As you have been served, may you also serve; as you have received Christ’s grace, may you also give.

In the name of Christ’s abundant love, let us joyfully join with all Christ’s children around the world in sharing one with another.

As people of God, we receive a wealth of gifts from God which flow through us to enrich the lives of others. Through One Great Hour we commit to help those who are most vulnerable.

The offering will be received Palm Sunday.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Dear Church Friends,

In the past, First Presbyterian Church has established Care Groups which included all church members. This year, we would like to try something new.
Now, Care Groups will consist of members who volunteer because they like to participate in social activities. We will enjoy some of the same things that made previous groups successful, such as live theater, concerts, sports events, rodeo, dining out and dining in/parties at members’ homes.
If this sounds interesting and you would like to participate there will be a sign up sheet in fellowship hall through March 3rd. If you would consider being a co-leader, please indicate your willingness on the sign up sheet. We’d like to have as many as possible participate. If there is enough interest, two or more groups can be formed.
Come join us and have some good times. Enjoy fun and fellowship with your fellow Presbyterians.

If you are on a committee and your name is not listed, please notify the church office.

First Presbyterian receives support from many members. This support makes it possible for the church to provide Christian nurture, support, and outreach as a part of our mission. What many people do not realize is that the church receives a great deal of voluntary time from some and an extra ordinary amount of voluntary time from others. The motivation factor for all of us, regardless of the amount of time and resources we contribute, is belief in Jesus Christ who calls us to share the good news of God’s love. You are needed as members of the various committees of the church. Please contact the moderator of the committee of your choice and be a part of First Church’s committees.
