LONG RANGE PLANNING

To all the interested parties who contacted me or met with me after church, I'm going to have to delay our initial meeting until July. The company from which I retired asked me to assist with a short project. I started on 5/20 and am scheduled to complete the job at the end of June. I'll be traveling to California each week (LA area) to work this assignment, so I won't be able to kick off our planning process until I'm done with the project. I'll contact you when I get this going. If anyone would like to volunteer to get this started sooner, please let me know!!!

MESSAGE OF THANKS

Throughout Scott's illness the past two years and in our recent time of sorrow, all of you gave us strength when you reached out to us through prayer, messages of support and Christian love.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Bob for his faithful visits to Scott and us, and especially for choosing the perfect time each day of Scott's last week in the hospital to be with us and guide us through his final journey.

Our thanks to the Presbyterian Women for the bountiful offerings of delicious food and drink at the lovely reception they provided after Scott's memorial service and celebration of his life.

Special thanks to Mary and Dick Kirk for their love, support and help in the planning process.
Noelene and Steve Conner
Amy Pospichal

THANK YOU -- We would like to thank the members of the congregation for
the many gestures of kindness and thoughtfulness shown to us during our recent illness. The prayers, calls, cards and food were much appreciated.
Martin & Margaret Parks

THANK YOU -- Thank you so much to all of you who were so very good to me following my recent hip surgery. All the prayers, cards, visits, telephone calls, and dinners made my recuperation remarkably pain free and speedy. It is indeed a blessing to have such a caring church family.

ROCKWALL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
SUMMER 2002 PROGRAMS

On Sunday, May 19th David Wasserman, General Presbyter, of Grace Presbytery, will join us in worship to welcome our summer intern, Mark Keffer. Mark will begin work on May 13th and his last Sunday will be July 21st.

Following are just a few of the programs Mark has planned for our youth and young adults:

Summer Shema - Grab a guitar, bring a friend, or just come as you are. Join us for evenings of praise music, fellowship, FOOD, and God's Word. Wednesday nights (May 15-July 24), from 7-9 PM. We will gather in the youth Sunday school room at 7:00 PM and go from there, depending upon the activity. The focus will be, how we can faithfully live out God's commandment in Deut.6:4-5 to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and might. The Wednesday night meetings are intended for students in grades 8-12, recent high school grads and first-year college students. Adult helpers are encouraged to attend.

Youth Core - Hey adults! Have a heart for youth ministry? Want to reach youths in your congregation and community and see them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? Join the youth core, a group of adults in the congregation of ALL gifts, ages and backgrounds who want to establish and carry out a vision for youth ministry in Rockwall Presbyterian Church. It doesn't take experts or a large time commitment, just a love for kids, a heart for God, and a desire to serve. Our four meetings will address subjects such as vision, leadership, programming, education, etc., and we will also gather for fellowship and brief devotional exercises. A youth ministry is only as strong as its adult leadership, so please join us Sunday nights (May 19, June 9, June 30, July 14), from 6:30-8:00 PM in the conference room.

Young Adult Fellowship - Home from college, just out of college or already in the workforce? Join us Sunday nights (June 2, 16, July 7, 21) from 6:30 PM for fellowship activities and a 4-part study of Paul's Letter to the Galatians.

SWIM PARTY
3:00-5:00 PM
Friday, May 31st
At the Tunnells 1620 Baycrest

Finals are over! Let's celebrate with pizza and a dip in the pool. Bring a swimsuit, your floaties, if you need them, a towel, and a big appetite.
