We have all drunk from wells we did not dig and sat in the shade of trees we
did not plant. What an appropriate affirmation for all of us who have been
blessed by the First Presbyterian Church of Rockwall over the years. The church
is like a noble tree casting a gracious shadow across the generations within
which we have found shelter, nurture and the spiritual fellowship of the body
of Christ.STATEMENT OF MISSION
First Presbyterian Church of Rockwall is committed to bringing people closer to God through:WORSHIP - We believe that God is at work through the teachings of his Son Jesus Christ, His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection tell us that we may have eternal life through faith. Gathering regularly for the word of God gives believers the renewed faith that helps us all feel God's love, which we can share in our daily living.
OUTREACH - Sharing God's love with all, We believe that Jesus Christ is active in all of us as believers and that we should show a concern for our neighbors and their needs. We believe that our church is for those who are not attending and our actions should reflect this.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION - Christian education is offered to all ages. There are no limits, or age restrictions, for learning of the word of God. HIs love is available to all and we are dedicated to teaching and sharing the faith to all who will listen.
FELLOWSHIP - Learning of God's love for us through worship and education would be meaningless if we did not share this. Through fellowship we see God's love in the personalities of His people and this gives s the renewed faith that all of us need. There is strength in numbers and our fellowship provides witness of love for all.
